Our foreman - Gulnar

On the eve of International Women's Day, we continue to talk about women working in our orchard.
There are 6 brigades working in the Amal Bio orchard. Among the six foremen there is only one female. And she is our hero today.
She is the only woman in charge of such responsible job. And if anyone think that she is given an advantage at her work because of that, then they would be very wrong.
Amal Bio's management recognizes Gulnar's hard working and sense of fairness. And she also leads by personal example in her job.
Gulnar Konkybaeva is a resident of the Ashybulak village of the Enbekshikazakh region. She is a mother of five children. Her eldest daughter also works for Amal Bio.
- Nazira studied to be an accountant. At Amal Bio, she works as a record keeper, - says Gulnar with notes of pride. - When I was younger, I worked in a city, at a factory. And I have been working here since 2014. I was officially appointed as the foreman 5 years later, in 2019. Even though I didn’t have technical skills when I started, now I can safely drive a motorcycle. I learned a lot here.
- We have 6 employees in each brigade. There is just one woman working in each crew, the others are all men.
The most important thing in a foreman’s job is to organize and supervise the work of employees, and one would need to know all aspects of the job from A to Z.
- Our job depends on the season. At the moment we are busy pruning apple trees and shaping them.
Apple trees require constant maintenance. Pruning an apple tree is a really hard work and requires a lot of preparation.
